A roundtable discussion in collaboration with ‘Science Trash’: ‘Will artificial intelligence destroy humanity?’
Four AI experts intervened at ESIEE Paris on June 12th 2023. Discover the replay.
On the 12th of June 2023, a roundtable discussion took place at ESIEE Paris in an effort to answer the question of whether or not AI will destroy humanity. It is difficult not to ask ourselves this, when we can already see changes in our day-to-day life because of the mere appearance of ChatGPT.
This roundtable discussion was organised by ESIEE Paris, with the help of alumni Samy Senhadji, and the team behind the ‘Science Trash’ YouTube channel. ‘Science Trash’ aims to popularise and make the different fields of science and technology more accessible to their following of more than 671000 subscribers.
The AI experts that took part…
- Daniel Courivaud: teacher-researcher and head of our Datascience & AI network.
- Guillaume Saes: creator of the ‘Science Trash’ YouTube channel, doctor of maths, and Data Scientist at Quantmetry (AI company in Paris).
- Abdou Bouroubi: CTO (chief technology officer) of the start-up company ‘Macaron’, which uses AI to solve parking problems.
- Grégoire Martinon: Lead Data Scientist, and expert in reliable and ethical AI at Quantmetry.
Throughout this event, our experts explored the many aspects of AI, addressing its advantages, its limits, and the ethical and logical issues it raises. The experts also tried to raise public awareness of the subject and answer any questions that the public may have.
