Veronica Belmega, teacher-researcher at ESIEE Paris, wins award for best paper
Read her article on localisation in GNSS (global navigation satellite system) networks using machine (deep) learning.
Veronica Belmega received her award for best paper during the ICL-GNSS conference, which took place in Spain on the 6th – 8th of June 2023. The ICL-GNSS addresses the latest research on wireless and satellite positioning techniques to provide reliable and accurate position information with low latency.

The prize for best article was awarded to the publication entitled ‘RNN-Based GNSS Positioning using Satellite Measurement Features and Pseudorange Residuals’, which was co-written by Ibrahim Sbeity, Christophe Villien, Benoît Denis and Veronica Belmega.
Veronica Belmega is a professor at ESIEE Paris, Université Gustave Eiffel. It was her PhD student Ibrahim Sbeity, who is based at CEA Grenoble (a government-funded technological research organisation), and his co-supervisors who presented Veronica with the award for Best Paper.
This publication is based on work on localisation in GNSS networks via machine (deep) learning. It presents a new approach for selecting and weighting signals received from numerous satellites using AI, exploiting joint and linked characteristics to improve the accuracy of location.
The prize for best article was awarded to the publication entitled ‘RNN-Based GNSS Positioning using Satellite Measurement Features and Pseudorange Residuals’.
This article was co-written by Ibrahim Sbeity, Christophe Villien, Benoît Denis and Veronica Belmega.
